OurMission

HuskyMail+ is an independent, concept-only project exploring how campus mail could be simpler, more transparent, and less stressful. The idea is to help students, RAs, staff, and faculty quickly understand where a package is, what happens next, and how to get help—without digging through emails, waiting in line, or guessing at the process.

WhatHuskyMail+will solve

  • Fragmented communications → a single source of truth. A clear, organized view of all package notifications and status updates, instead of scattered emails and ad-hoc messages.
  • No real-time visibility → live mail-flow tracking. A single, real-time status view for every item in the mail flow—from carrier drop-off to student pickup.
  • Pickup confusion → precise, self-serve guidance. Simple, accurate directions on where and how to pick up each package, reducing front-desk questions and line congestion.
  • Carrier silos → unified logistics dashboard. One dashboard to monitor incoming packages from all major carriers, with consistent labeling and searchable history.
  • Limited support hours → 24/7 smart assistance. An AI assistant for mail and package questions, policies, and next steps—available around the clock for students and staff.
  • Informal hand-offs → auditable pickup delegation. Easy, controlled ways to authorize friends, RAs, or staff to pick up packages, with clear notifications and an audit trail.
  • Hidden risks → temperature and priority flags. Built-in flags for temperature-sensitive or time-critical deliveries, so staff can prioritize what truly can’t sit on a shelf.
  • Unclaimed items → structured ownership resolution. A quick, guided way to claim and verify ownership of unknown or mislabeled packages, reducing storage waste and risk.

For campus operations

  • Reduced front-desk volume and wait times.
  • Better forecasting of peak load during move-in, holidays, and exam weeks.
  • Clearer record-keeping around chain of custody and exception handling.
  • A more consistent, campus-wide student experience across housing and mail centers.
